Will Manhart

Will was introduced to bird hunting at the age of 10 when his dad brought home their first bird dog, a Vizsla named Ferenc. While New Jersey wasn’t considered a bird hunting Mecca, Will, his dad and that dog hunted all over it, creating memories and fueling what would become a life long passion. Fast forward and Will is now the owner of two Brittanys that get to chase birds all over the Mountain West. Will lives for the Fall and the bird hunting ventures the cooler temperatures bring. When trying to think of his favorite moment afield, his brain spirals through all the amazing memories with his dogs, past and present. But if he had to pick one, it’s probably a double on chukar somewhere above the Snake River. Will’s second favorite thing is guiding folks on some of Utah’s amazing trout streams.

Stokes and Bootsy

Stokes (named after the New Jersey state forest) and Bootsy (named after the Parliament Funkadelic bassist) are two big running and hard charging Brittanys.

Bootsy is a young pup with picture perfect form who lives to pin down birds and please whoever is hunting over him. He has stuck coveys of Hungarian partridge and running Kansas roosters, but there is nothing he likes more than West desert Utah chukar. When not hunting he is begrudgingly wrestling with his two-year-old human brother.

Stokes is the seasoned veteran who has 11 species of game birds under his belt in his 6 years afield. Nicknamed “Mr. Natural” by those who have hunted with him, he lives up to the name with his feel for handling wild and stocked birds, as well as his goofy demeanor around the house. He has pointed birds in 8 states, and if he could talk, he would tell you that his favorite place in the world is Hell’s Canyon. Especially that one cliff he always finds a covey of chukar on.
